LEED green associate designation – Proof of expertise in green buildings construction

LEED green associate designation is an internationally acclaimed process of certifying persons as knowledgeable in the green building strategies and solutions. This is a part of LEED certification program, developed by the Green Building Council of the US. LEED provides builders and constructers guidelines for green building construction and management. These are applicable to both domestic and commercial complex buildings. The guidelines are applicable throughout the lifetime of the building starting from foundation development to tenet filling and retrofit.

The USGBC established an academy called the Green Building Certification Institute, which provides two types of green building certification programs; the LEED accredited professional and the LEED green associate (GA). The LEED GA is for non-technical persons who want to demonstrate their proficiency in green building parameters. To get this designation, the two basic requirements are to have 15hours of training in green building related topic and to clear the certification exam.

The LEED green associate exam has 100 multiple choice questions on the topics covering the main aspects of LEED rating and certification.
